# Delete List

> DELETE /v3/lists/{list_uuid}/ — remove an allowlist or custom list from your Didit application. System blocklists cannot be deleted.

Endpoint:
DELETE https://verification.didit.me/v3/lists/{list_uuid}/

Authentication:
Use the x-api-key header with my Didit API key.

Goal:
- Permanently delete an allowlist or custom list that I no longer need.
- System blocklists (is_system: true) cannot be deleted; the API rejects DELETE on those.

Path parameter:
- list_uuid — the list UUID returned by GET /v3/lists/ or POST /v3/lists/.

Important semantics:
- Returns 204 No Content with an empty body on success.
- Any workflow status_rule that references this list (value_type: "list") will stop matching after deletion. Audit your workflows before deleting.

Failure modes:
- 400 — attempt to delete a system blocklist.
- 401 — missing or malformed x-api-key.
- 403 — canonical { "detail": "You do not have permission to perform this action." } envelope.
- 404 — list not found in this application.

Side effects:
- The list and its entries are removed.
